For us it’s the value that a contractor can provide, not just a competitive price, which makes the difference.  We interviewed four contractors before deciding on Benchmark Construction.  The project price quoted by Carl was competitive and as the project moved along it became clear that the value provided by Benchmark Construction exceeded our expectations.

 

Ours was not a simple project but Carl navigated the challenges with expertise.  We have yet to hire a contractor who listens and communicates as well as Carl.  Unexpected problems did arise and changes to the original plan were required.  We talked through the issues, Carl listened to our thoughts and concerns, we agreed on the solution and Carl moved forward exactly as agreed upon.

 

For future projects Carl Sells and Benchmark Construction will be our first call.

Carl provided a detailed estimate for our bathroom project which made it very easy to look at costs and make changes when we decided to upgrade our flooring material.  Carl has a great personality and communicated well throughout our project.  He listened to us when we wanted changes and that made it very easy to work with him.  He arrived on site when he said he would and cleaned up every day.  Our new bathroom is beautiful and we are very pleased with the job he did.

My wife and I had contacted multiple contractors in the Des Moines area for bids on a 2 car detached garage with loft space. We met with all of the contractors and decided to go with Benchmark Construction based on the extremely professional and competive bid we received from Carl.

 

Carl helped us make design decisions we had not thought about in addition to providing us with money saving alternatives for some of our design details. We had some challenging pre work we had to do before construction could take place. Carl was helpful and patient while we worked out our issues with site prep work.

 

Once construction started it was completed in a timely manner and the outcome was a garage that is well constructed and looks as good as I had hoped. I was most impressed with the professionalism and customer care that Carl brought to the project and maintained throughout the entire process. We plan on doing more work in 2015 and will invite Benchmark Construction be the first to bid on the new work.
